Fale Scholar is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a clear pathway to a nursing degree in the United States for high-achieving Tongan high school students. This life-changing opportunity offers not only a future of hope and stability for the students, but also a lasting impact for families and communities across Tonga.

Founded and run by the Palaki family in Washington State, the program fully funds tuition, room, and board for accepted applicants pursuing a nursing degree—removing financial barriers and empowering the next generation of Tongan healthcare leaders with the goal of raising the standard of healthcare and increasing access for Tongans.

Program Details

High-achieving Tongan high school seniors who have maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher, are passionate about nursing, and whose families can cover travel to the United States are invited to apply for this life-changing opportunity.

Through the generosity of our donors, students receive full funding—including accommodations, meals, transportation, textbooks, supplies, and tuition. Beyond the classroom, participants gain hands-on experience through legal work in the medical field, building real-world skills while pursuing their degree.

This is a 3–4 year journey designed to help students achieve their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and step confidently into a future filled with purpose and possibility. (Please note: advanced degrees such as a Masters or Doctorate are not included in this program.)

Our program currently supports a limited number of full-time students, but we are excited to expand—and applications are open now, though current US student visas are NOT being granted. We hope this ban changes soon, and we will keep all applications on file until we are able to legally apply for student visas again!
